We’re going to be in full-force at next week’s Special Libraries Association (SLA) centennial conference in Washington, DC!

First, Abe Lederman (our President and CTO) will be speaking at the session, entitled SLA Contributed Papers: Adapt, Leverage, and Communicate–Part I, Monday, June 15th, 2009, from 3:30PM to 5:30PM, in Convention Center, 141. His contributed paper, Science Research: Journey to a Thousand Sources was among nine proposals selected out of 53 submissions. Each paper was evaluated on quality of writing, scope, objectives and innovation.

Check out the other contributed papers, if you’re interested.

The theme of this year’s conference is Information to Inspiration: Knowledge & Vision Shaping the Future. Inspired by the potential for a massively scalable research application, Abe’s paper includes his vision for distilling the overwhelming amount of available electronic information via a divide-and-conquer approach. His talk will include the benefits, the challenges and a technical overview on achieving the vision through the use of next-generation federated search technology.

Second, we a have booth in the Exhibitor’s Hall, booth #1154 (opposite end from the entrance, not far from Hall E, Unit Idea Showcase and Hoovers). Darcy Pedersen (our Marketing Manager) and Terry Colby (our Sales Manager) will be on hand to give demos of our product, and [drum roll] handing out these really cool and unique playing card decks. We only have a limited amount of playing cards, so come by the booth early to get a deck!
